Damien Benoit-Ledoux has enjoyed the creative design process throughout his life and consistently shaped music, images, documents, text, and words into amazing, memorable presentations.
During his junior year of high school, his church pastor sat him in front of a brand new desktop computer and asked him to digitize the weekly bulletin in Microsoft Publisher. From that day forward, he crafted and edited the bulletin and created flyers, booklets, and other printed materials for several area churches.
In high school and college, he took as many creative writing classes as possible and participated in theater and choral productions while accompanying or leading one or more church choirs on the piano. When he turned twenty-one and the Internet became a thing, he built the church’s first website and became responsible for website development.
After several successful college and grad-school adventures with stage plays, choreography, graphic design, and video production, Damien found his true passion in the written and spoken word. He wrote seeds, or the ideas and plots that later grew into his first round of self-published books in the young adult, science fiction, and supernatural genres. There are many more seeds germinating in the fertile soil of Damien’s imagination.
After graduate school, Damien enjoyed four years of formal church ministry and continued using his gifts to serve those entrusted to him. After departing ministry, he put his document and presentation talents to good use in a full-time position that administered the New York State Alternate Assessment. A few years later, he shifted to the Information Technology group and assumed responsibility for writing and editing strategically aligned text for multi-million dollar business proposals.
Damien has been editing and formatting documents for professional presentation and publication. He has keen eye for typographical and grammatical errors that most authors and writers can’t see in their own manuscripts. As a self-published author of young adult, science fiction, and supernatural books, he’s an expert at preparing books for popular digital publication services such as Amazon KDP or Draft2Digital Publication.
Today, Damien enjoys spending time with his husband, Tim, their son, Aury, their dog, Hugo, and their family and friends. He continues to embrace his love for story by shifting his career from business analysis and enterprise architecture to one of writing, editing, and promoting success for the written words of fellow authors and writers.
And finally, he wants you to remember a very important thing:
No matter how bad your day is at work, it’s always important to be grateful that you don’t work for a Sith Lord.
A Brief History of Purple Spekter™
When Damien first launched Purple Spekter™ Creative in 2014, it was a creative arts endeavor in digital art for the LGBT community. The Purple Spekter™ Shop at RedBubble (purplespekter) still exists to promote LGBT pride, support, and visibility in the larger world. In advance, thank you for your support.
When Damien self-published his first book, The Climb, he created a private book publishing imprint called Purple Spekter™ LLP | Press.
When his full-time job downsized its workforce and laid Damien off in May of 2019, he hit the ground running and launched the Purple Spekter™ LLP | Word Forge. This change brought the company to the forefront of the novel/book editing and other document services.
